Our customer had inherited a considerable mix of systems when it acquired other
hotel chains, because of which there was a need to bring the entire array of applications
to one common platform to ensure consistency of operations and data.
Our customer embarked on a five-year plan to transition the core business applications
to a Services Oriented Architecture using UNIX and Linux based platforms, one of
the largest of its kind. This included not only a Property Management System and
a Central Reservation System, but also third-party products and channels such as
revenue management, distribution channels, call center, consumer web site etc.
