London, UK – July 26, 2011– ITC Infotech, a global IT services and solutions company and a fully owned subsidiary of ITC Ltd., today announced the successful upgradation of SAP® NetWeaver™ Master Data Management version 7.1 (SAP® NW™ MDM) application for CSM Europe, the largest supplier of bakery products worldwide and a leading player in natural food preservation and green chemicals.
The implementation of SAP® NW™ MDM at CSM has laid the foundation for a pan-European procurement transactional system ensuring the maintenance of a uniform master data for vendors and items. Furthermore, it has helped to create a true synergy, reduce duplications and redundancies and has facilitated the proactive management and control of expenditure and efficient management of contracts.
This implementation was a key milestone for the CSM’s master data management organization. Since its inception in 1919, CSM has grown into a multinational company, providing bakery supplies and green chemicals to a wide variety of customers across Europe. CSM’s previous management data was a combination of SAP®, Navision (2006 and earlier versions) and other bespoke systems. In the past, system users had to use different item numbers for the same material with inconsistent supplier data Now SAP® NW™ MDM application, ensures consistent data across all platforms further improving business process efficiency, decision making and the flexibility to change.
The upgraded SAP® NW™ MDM platform enables CSM to work on future developments, including automated master data request processing. In addition, the SAP® NW™ MDM 7.1 application has many performance enhancing features which include consolidating, synchronizing, integrating, distributing and managing master data. Ultimately, CSM will be able to leverage the MDM platform to its fullest extent by extending it to other master data domains.
Commenting on the project, Mr. Burkhard Becker, ERP Competence Center Expert of CSM said, “We are pleased to have ITC Infotech as our partner. They worked within the framework of our organization to ensure business continuity. The MDM project is a good showcase of their technical as well as project management skills.”
Dr. Sanku Bose, Global Head- ERP, ITC Infotech commented on the occasion, “We are pleased with the success of our upgradation of SAP® NetWeaver™ Master Data Management application for CSM Europe. ITC Infotech is a participant in the SAP® Co-Innovation Lab and the SAP® Consulting Partner Program which improves our ability to provide our clients industry-specific accelerators and solution kits, pre-configured MDM content and proven implementation methodologies.”
Mr. Bala Subramanium, Vice-President – Europe, ITC Infotech said, “ITC Infotech’s dedicated team of consultants with in-depth industry experience in SAP® and deep domain knowledge assists customers in achieving a faster time to value for their software implementations.”
The application upgrade was deployed without any business disruptions and was completed ahead of schedule in a cost effective manner leveraging ITC Infotech’s global delivery capability. ITC Infotech established a global delivery centre for CSM at its Bangalore office. A lean project organization was also established with clear focus on minimum downtime and rigorous multiple rounds of testing. As a result, this implementation structure enabled an effective collaborative platform to develop between CSM and ITC Infotech.
