As soon as the passenger reaches the airline ticket counter, the RFID tags are printed
and attached to their baggage. Each tag carries a unique identifier that is read
while the bag is being transported to conveyor belts to route it to screening machines
and then on to the appropriate flights. A user defined serial number is provided to every bag incorporated into a silicon chip. This serial number contained on the
chip is known as the baggage license plate that emits a radio signal which matches
the user-defined serial number on the RFID tag with the signal of antenna that are
installed in various parts/junctions of the airport, with the help of which status
of the baggage is identified.
