Increase in efficiency by implementing Windchill
Customer
Our customer is a leading global supplier of consumer and business electronics
Business Need
Customer has wide range of product lines and was facing problems in managing NPD and revision to existing products
There is no system to manage parts and bill of materials (BOM) and capture change management
Processing of data and information transfer was manual and the co-ordination between various departments was inefficient
There was a need for executing mass changes to Bill of Materials
To effectively manage multiple projects while collaborating with clients and different manufacturing sites was a key challenge for project managers
How We Helped
Modules were customized to meet business process, including:
Document management – To manage product and project documents
Part management/ BOM management – to assist in NPD
Change management – To record changes and standardize the change process and also to apply mass changes to BOM
Bug and issue management- To track and resolve bugs.
Project management – To create the Project Plan and track project status.
Windchill Info*Engine was also used to publish the release of Manufacture BOM to SAP system with automated validations as per set business rules.
