Bangalore,December 15, 2006 : ITC Infotech India Limited, a global IT services company, opened a dedicated development
centre for one of its
major clients, Finnair, Finland`s biggest airline which has
recently started flights to New Delhi.
The development centre was inaugurated by Tom Källström, Vice President, eBusiness
Development, Commercial Division, Finnair. The state-of-the-art development centre
is situated at the ITC Infotech Park campus in Bangalore and has a seating capacity
of 100.
At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Källström said, "The opening of a dedicated Finnair
Development Centre marks an important milestone in our growing relationship with
ITC Infotech. The development center will help us in our ongoing efforts to offer
quality services to customers faster. ITC Infotech has demonstrated capability in
the right technology and domain expertise required to support our airline."
Earlier this year, ITC Infotech had signed a five-year multi-million dollar contract
with Finnair. ITC Infotech will be involved in implementing the frequent flyer loyalty
program,
e-ticketing and other operational application systems at Finnair.
Commenting at the inauguration of the development centre, Khem Aithani, Vice President,
ITC Infotech India Ltd said, "We have a fine mix of technology and business domain
expertise to serve our clients in the Travel and Hospitality space. Airlines are
a niche business area where ITC Infotech is fast gaining traction". He further added,
"The dedicated development centre is part of our extended enterprise model for our
customers, which helps the partnership succeed.
The company recently announced opening of a dedicated Development Centre India (DCI)
for Danske Bank, the largest bank in Denmark and a leading player in the Scandinavian
financial markets.
