Our Customer is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. 

As part of the IT initiatives, the Customer decided to re-platform (i.e. Application Transformation) one of their IBM mainframe based applications into .NET platform.

ITC Infotech took a three-phase approach for the initiative. The first phase was system understanding, getting a handle on what the legacy system comprises and documenting it. The second phase was componentization and rules mining - essentially rearranging components of the existing system to a new set of modules or objects, creating a middle tier with reusable objects. And the last phase was transformation, which consists of converting code or modules from a legacy environment (IBM mainframe COBOL & IMS) to .NET architecture with ORACLE as the database.
