Our customer is a community-controlled, non-profit service corporation created to provide services, amenities and facilities for the benefit of the residents and business community of a state in the United States. The service corporation is one of the best-known and most successful planned communities in the United States.

Business Need
Over the past few years, the customer had initiated efforts to identify current and future computing needs that would result in improved operational efficiency and future growth. The primary focus of this initiative was to replace the existing super-mini computer system that posed the following problems:
  • Inability to cater to the increasingly complex business scenario thus hampering growth
  • Outdated technology unable to meet the demand of the new age business
  • Limited and inconsistent data integrity check
  • Duplication of work efforts(data redundancy)
  • System reaching its maximum capacity with no room to grow
  • Increasingly difficult and expensive system maintenance
How We Helped

ITC Infotech delivered a complex ground up custom application to support various business functionalities like comprehensive membership, POS, resource scheduling, reservation, school age services etc on time and in budget despite the huge challenges involved, like integration with the ERP systems and multiple hardware and software interfaces (scanners, POS bundle, cheque printers etc). Built on Microsoft .Net technologies using hybrid web based architecture, the application is scalable and supports future growth with low IT investments.

Since the customer has 41 facilities across the state and each facility has different business rules for the same business area (e.g. facility usage and renting), the solution design had to be flexible and robust to enable all the facilities to work on the same central system despite different business rules.

The system has high performance features built-in – it takes less than 5 seconds to retrieve a customer record with a photo ID after scanning, while taking a load of more than 1000 simultaneous users. It also addresses advanced security needs associated with e-enablement of the system.
