Every day, millions of people fly to numerous destinations on commercial carriers. Each passenger carries some baggage and hand these to an airline employee, trusting the airline to successfully deliver their belongings on time, every time, across destinations.
Despite the complexity of the task, an overwhelming majority of luggage carried is properly handled. Most bags are eventually reunited with their owners. However, baggage losses occur and end up in unclaimed freight depots, resulting in high compensation and ire of the customer.
